Chunkara (Puno)

Chunkara is a mountain in the Andes of Peru, about 5,000 meters tall (roughly 16,400 feet). It lies in the Sillapaka range within the Puno Region, Lampa Province, Paratia District, northeast of Sillapaka. The name comes from the Aymara language and means “pointed mountain”; the Hispanicized spelling is Chungara. Its coordinates are 15°33′58″S, 70°47′56″W.
