Shaws Bend, Texas

Shaws Bend is an unincorporated community in Colorado County, Texas. It sits on Farm to Market Road 1890 near a bend in the Colorado River, about 5 miles northwest of Columbus. The community had about 100 residents in 2000. In the 1870s, schools for Black and White students were segregated. Today, Shaws Bend is served by the Columbus Independent School District.
