Chaswood, formerly Taylorville, is a rural community in the Musquodoboit Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada, located northwest of Middle Musquodoboit. It is named in honour of Charles Carroll Wood and sits in the Halifax Regional Municipality, in the Southwest Branch of the Musquodoboit. Nearby communities in the same branch include Cooks Brook, Carrolls Corner, and Dutch Settlement. Chaswood was once called Charleswood, then Taylorville, before settling on its current name. The first post office and general store stood opposite the Walter Webster homestead.
