Carlo Simionato
Carlo Simionato, born July 1, 1961 in Ravenna, Italy, is a retired Italian sprinter who specialized in the 100 and 200 meters. He has personal bests of 10.34 seconds for the 100m (1985) and 20.53 seconds for the 200m (1983). He won seven international medals, all with Italy’s relay teams. At the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki, he finished seventh in the 200m final and won a silver medal as part of the 4x100m relay team. He placed fourth in the 4x100m relay at the 1982 European Championships and won bronze in the 200m at the 1983 Mediterranean Games. Domestically, he was the Italian champion in the 200m (1982, 1985) and the 100m (1985), and the indoor 200m champion (1984, totaling four individual national titles).
