Bernard Genoud (22 February 1942 – 21 September 2010) was the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg from 1999 until his death. He was born in Châtel-Saint-Denis, Switzerland, and was ordained a priest in 1968. He was appointed bishop on 18 March 1999 and consecrated on 24 May 1999. He died of lung cancer at a hospice in Fribourg at age 68; his funeral was held at Fribourg Cathedral on 25 September 2010. In 2008, he publicly asked Swiss Catholics for forgiveness during the priest sex abuse scandals in the country. In December 2023, Bishop Charles Morerod stated in a press interview that Genoud had sexually abused a woman who was 19 at the time, dating back to Genoud's years as a teacher at the Collège du Sud in Bulle (1976–1994).
