Charlie Hedley (1881–1942) was an early Australian rugby league player from Newcastle, New South Wales. He started in rugby union with Glebe before joining Glebe’s new rugby league team in 1908, the league’s first season. Hedley was one of Australia’s first national players, appearing in the inaugural professional series against New Zealand in 1907 and taking part in the 1908–09 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain, where he played 17 matches including a Test against England.

He later played for Annandale (1910–11) and represented New South Wales (1907–08) and Australia (1908–09). Hedley was selected to play fullback in Australia’s first trans-Tasman test.

In 1914, he was awarded Life Membership of the New South Wales Rugby League. Hedley died suddenly at his Leichhardt home on 13 August 1942, aged 61, and was buried at Rookwood Cemetery.
