Balkadu
Balkadu is a 2015 Marathi political action film directed by Atul Kale and produced by Swapna Patker. It stars Umesh Kamat, Neha Pendse, and Prasad Oak, with Supriya Pathare, Tiku Talsania, Pushkar Shrotri, and Anand Ingale in supporting roles. The movie is loosely based on the ideologies of Bal Thackeray and includes voice clips from his speeches. Tiku Talsania makes his Marathi cinema debut as a school principal. The music is by Ajit-Samir. Balkadu released on 23 January 2015, Bal Thackeray’s birth anniversary, and runs 150 minutes. It received negative reviews, with Pune Mirror giving it 2 out of 5 stars and calling it not the life of Bal Thackeray, but rather propaganda.
