Avanhard Stadium (Uzhhorod)
Avanhard Stadium is a multi‑purpose sports venue in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. It seats about 10,000 spectators and has a grass field measuring 104 by 68 meters. The stadium opened in 1952, was renovated in 2005, and is owned by the city. Architects were Yevhen Valts, Emil Egresi, and Sandor Kavac.
Over the years, it has hosted the Ukraine national football team (its first post‑independence match in 1992, a 1–3 defeat to Hungary) and local clubs such as Zakarpattia Uzhhorod (1952–2016). In 2012, Hoverla Uzhhorod leased the venue for 20 years, but the contract ended in 2017. Since 2020, FC Mynai has used Avanhard as its home ground in Ukraine’s top division, though Mynai was relegated after the 2023–24 season and left top flight football in 2025. FC Metalist Kharkiv has also been a tenant since 2023, and the Ukraine national rugby league team has played here. In 2020 the stadium was recertified to host Ukraine national team matches.
Ownership remains with the municipal government.
