Jean Auguste Ross
Jean Auguste Ross (September 6, 1851 – February 3, 1920) was a Canadian doctor and politician. He was born in Rimouski, Canada East, to John Ross and Caroline Talbot. He studied at Ste. Anne and Rimouski Seminaries and trained as a physician at Université Laval, then practiced medicine in Rimouski. He also served as Coroner for the District of Rimouski and as a Quarantine Officer for the port.
Ross was elected as a Liberal to the House of Commons for Rimouski in a 1897 by-election. He was re-elected in 1900, 1904, and 1908, and served until his defeat in 1911. He was succeeded by Herménégilde Boulay. Ross died on February 3, 1920, at the age of 68.
