Norman Bailey Snead (July 31, 1939 – January 14, 2024) was an American NFL quarterback who played for five teams from 1961 to 1976. He starred at Wake Forest, set multiple passing records, earned All-ACC honors, and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 1961 NFL draft. He joined the Washington Redskins, where he started every game as a rookie.

Over his 16-season career, Snead played for the Redskins (1961–63), Eagles (1964–70), Vikings (1971), Giants (1972–74, 1976), and 49ers (1974–75). He made four Pro Bowls (1962, 1963, 1965, 1972) and led the NFL in completion percentage in 1972. His career totals include 30,797 passing yards, 196 touchdowns, 257 interceptions, 2,276 completions, and 178 games. Notable moments include being traded to the Eagles for Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen and later being traded to the Giants for Fran Tarkenton.

After retiring in 1977, Snead coached at The Apprentice School in Newport News, Virginia, from 1977 to 1984 and again from 1988 to 1989, compiling a 46–41–2 record. He died in Naples, Florida, at age 84.
