The Aterazawa Line, or Aterazawa-sen, is a JR East railway line in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. It runs from Kita-Yamagata Station in Yamagata City to Aterazawa Station in Ōe, with all trains continuing to and from Yamagata Station. The line is about 24.3 kilometers long, single-tracked, not electrified, and allows speeds up to 85 km/h. It serves mainly urban areas with some rural sections and has 11 stations along its route. The line opened to Uzen-Nagasaki in 1921 and was extended to Aterazawa in 1922. CTC (centralised traffic control) signalling was introduced in 1982. In the past, the nearby Sanzan Electric Railway ran an 11-km electric line from Uzen-Takamatsu to Mazawa, operating at 600 V DC from 1926 to 1974.
