List of NCAA Division I FBS scoring leaders

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Overview: The list ranks the top 30 NCAA Division I FBS players by total points scored, either for a career or in a single season. Scoring is: 6 points for a touchdown (rushing, receiving, or return; passing touchdowns don’t count), 3 points for a field goal, 2 points for a two-point conversion, and 1 point for an extra point. Pre-2002 bowl games are not included in the totals, per NCAA rules. Because those bowl statistics aren’t counted, some notable single-season feats aren’t reflected. For example, Barry Sanders scored five touchdowns in the 1988 Holiday Bowl, but those points aren’t in his 1988 season total; if counted, he would be first on the single-season list.
