Asaichi
Asaichi (あさイチ) is a Japanese weekday morning talk show on NHK General Television. It is hosted by Naoko Suzuki and Hanamaru-Daikichi Hakata and runs about 94 minutes each weekday, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:54 a.m. JST.
The program began on March 29, 2010, evolving from NHK's morning information program Seikatsu Hot Morning. Its first hosts were Yumiko Udo and Yoshihiko Inohara. The show mainly targets women in their 40s and covers topics such as health, money, cooking, home tips, infertility, menopause, and relationships.
In April 2018, Hakata and Yurie Omi became the main presenters. In February 2021, Omi announced she would leave NHK, and Naoko Suzuki took over as the main host starting March 30, 2021.
The program begins just after another morning drama block and is split into two parts: 8:15–9:00 and 9:05–9:54, with NHK News Center headlines airing between sections. If breaking news happens, the show pauses for news. Viewers can send comments by fax or email, and some messages are read aloud on air.
