Amphinema byssoides, or cratered duster, is a corticioid fungus that forms mycorrhizal relationships with spruce trees. It belongs to the Fungi kingdom, Basidiomycota division, Agaricomycetes class, Atheliales order, Atheliaceae family, and the genus Amphinema.

The species was first described in 1801 by Christiaan Hendrik Persoon as Thelephora byssoides. In 1958, John Eriksson reclassified it into the genus Amphinema, giving it the current name Amphinema byssoides.
