All India Shia Political Conference, founded in 1929 in Lucknow, was a political party in British India that aimed to represent Shia Muslims and oppose the partition of India. It had provincial units and notable leaders, such as Sir Sultan Ahmad of Bihar, who denounced Jinnah in April 1940. In October 1937, the conference urged its members to support the Indian National Congress, a move praised by Nehru. At a Chapra meeting on 18 April 1940, the group condemned the Muslim League’s Lahore Resolution for a separate Pakistan. Notable attendees included Yahya Nazim, Syed Hasan Askari, Mozaffar Husain, Ali Muzaffar, Abdul Aziz Ansari, with Shabbir Hasan presiding. The conference was part of the All India Azad Muslim Conference, which opposed partition and the creation of Pakistan.
