The 9th Tank Division (1967–76) of the People's Republic of China was an armored unit based in Weifang, Shandong. It was formed on August 1, 1967 by combining the 236th Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment from the 31st Army Division, the 239th Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment from the 34th Army Division, and the 283rd Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment from the 179th Army Division.

In November 1969, the division moved to Changzhi, Shanxi, to reinforce the 27th Army Corps. During the 1970s it remained a reduced tank division with three under-equipped regiments.

In January 1976 the division was disbanded. Its regiments were reassigned: the 33rd Tank Regiment became the Tank Regiment of the 66th Army Corps, the 34th Tank Regiment became the Tank Regiment of the 21st Army Corps, and the 35th Tank Regiment became the Tank Regiment of the 28th Army Corps.
