2009 Oklahoma State Cowboys football
The Cowboys represented Oklahoma State University in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS season. Led by fifth-year head coach Mike Gundy, they played their home games at Boone Pickens Stadium. They finished 9–4 overall, 6–2 in the Big 12 Conference (South Division). They were ranked No. 25 in the coaches poll. The team ran a spread option offense under offensive coordinator Gunter Brewer and used a 4–3 defense under defensive coordinator Bill Young. They played in the Cotton Bowl Classic but lost to Ole Miss, 21–7. Several players moved on to the NFL in 2010.
