The White Storm 2: Drug Lords
The White Storm 2: Drug Lords is a 2019 Hong Kong action movie directed by Herman Yau. It is a thematic sequel to The White Storm, with Andy Lau producing and starring, and Louis Koo returning in a different role.
Plot in simple terms:
In 2004, triad member Jizo is punished by his boss Yu Nam and kicked out of the underworld. By 2019, Yu Nam has become a wealthy businessman known as the “Finance Whiz.” Jizo has risen to be a major drug lord. Yu discovers he has a long-lost son with his former girlfriend May. After his son dies from a drug overdose, Yu vows to crush the drug trade in Hong Kong. He uses his wealth to target criminals, while police inspector Lam Ching-fung tries to restore order. Jizo learns that Yu is behind the changes and Yu offers HK$100 million to kill the top drug dealer in the city. A hit kills Yu’s wife Michelle by accident. Yu and Jizo pursue each other to a subway tunnel, where a three-way shootout with Lam ends with Yu and Jizo dead and Lam surviving. Lam later uses the bounty money to open a center for children whose parents were addicts.
