2021 Auburn Tigers football season
The 2021 Auburn Tigers represented Auburn University in the NCAA Division I FBS season. They played home games at Jordan–Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama, and competed in the Western Division of the SEC. The team was led by first-year head coach Bryan Harsin.
They finished 6–7 overall and 3–5 in the SEC, the program’s first season under .500 since 2012.
Coaches and schemes: Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo (also in his first year) ran a singleback offense. Defensive coordinator Derek Mason (also in his first year) led a base 3–4 defense.
A-Day: On April 17, the spring game saw Team Auburn defeat Team Tigers 17–3. Tank Bigsby was the Offensive MVP, Trey Elston the Defensive MVP, and Anders Carlson the Special Teams MVP.
SEC Media Days: In July 2021, several Auburn players received preseason honors. Tank Bigsby was named 1st team All-SEC at running back. Bo Nix was 2nd team QB, Nick Brahms was 3rd team at center. On defense, Zakoby McClain and Smoke Monday were 2nd team, with Derick Hall, Owen Pappoe, and Roger McCreary on 3rd team. Tank Bigsby also appeared on the 2nd team as an all-purpose player, and Anders Carlson was 3rd team PK.
