On March 5, 2003, Belize held municipal elections to elect city and town councils in Belize City, Belmopan, and the towns of Corozal, Orange Walk, San Pedro, San Ignacio/Santa Elena, Dangriga, and Punta Gorda. A total of 142 candidates ran, and about 25% were women.

This was the first municipal election held on the same day as a general election, though in other years general and municipal elections have occurred in the same year.

The ruling People's United Party (PUP) won 47 of the 67 available seats, while the UDP won the remaining 20.

Since the 1997 City Council elections, municipal polls have generally been held in March every three years. Before 1997, most local and national elections were also held in March or April.
