1949 Texas Western Miners football team
The 1949 Texas Western Miners football team represented Texas Western College (now the University of Texas at El Paso) in the Border Conference during the 1949 season. In head coach Jack Curtice’s fourth year, the Miners went 8–2–1 overall and 4–2 in the conference, finishing third. They defeated Georgetown 33–20 in the Sun Bowl and outscored opponents 292 to 113. Home games were played at Kidd Field.
