University of World Economy and Diplomacy
University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) is a public university in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It was established on September 23, 1992, by a decree of President Karimov to train future national leaders. The university serves Uzbekistan’s foreign policy goals and supports the development of society and individuals. It has a strong alumni network.
UWED has transitioned to a comprehensive education system. It offers five-year undergraduate programs and two-year master’s programs, and it can award doctorates in selected areas. The university teaches international relations, political science, global economy, and law through three departments, 22 chair departments, and eight centers. Its faculty includes 16 full professors, more than 70 doctors (Doctor of Sciences or Candidate of Sciences) degrees holders, 55 associate professors, and 87 other qualified faculty members.
