List of cities and towns in Belarus
Belarus uses one word for both city and town: horad in Belarusian or gorod in Russian. There isn’t an English-style distinction between city and town here.
Urban places are classified into three levels of development by Belarusian law. The current system comes from a law of May 5, 1998, and Belarus kept this three-level classification from the time of the Byelorussian SSR, which introduced it in 1938.
As of 2020, 115 settlements had the status of a city or town. The list highlights these places and includes a map legend to explain the symbols.
