Xiromero
Xiromero (Greek: Ξηρόμερο) is a municipality in western Greece, within the Aetolia-Acarnania regional unit of the West Greece region. The administrative center is the town of Astakos. The municipality covers about 590 square kilometers. In 2021 its population was 10,206, giving a density of about 17 people per square kilometer. Its borders do not exactly match the historical Xiromero, which extends into parts of the Aktio-Vonitsa area and around Katouna. Xiromero was formed in 2011 during a local government reform by merging three former municipalities, which today form the municipal units of Xiromero. The area lies in the Eastern European Time zone (UTC+2), switching to Eastern European Summer Time (UTC+3) in daylight saving time. Website: https://www.dimosxiromerou.gr/ (in Greek).
