Xanthophyllum impressum is a tree in the Polygalaceae family. The Latin name impressum means “impressed,” referring to the enclosed axillary buds. Scientific name: Xanthophyllum impressum Meijden.

The tree can grow up to 23 meters tall and have a trunk up to 70 cm in diameter. It has smooth grey bark. The flowers are white and dry to orange or dark red. The fruits are brown, round, and about 1.7 cm across.

Xanthophyllum impressum naturally grows in lowland forests of Borneo and the Philippines.
