Winthrop College Historic District
Winthrop College Historic District is a national historic district on the Winthrop University campus in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It covers about 59.4 acres and includes 17 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure built between 1894 and 1943. The architecture features Gothic Revival, Richardsonian Romanesque, Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, and Neo-Georgian styles. Notable buildings include Tillman Hall and the Withers Building (listed separately), as well as Alumni House, Phelps Dormitory, Thurmond Building, Byrnes Auditorium, Johnson Hall, and the President's Residence. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 23, 1987. The design work includes Bruce & Morgan and other architects.
