William de Shepesheved
William de Shepesheved (circa 1270–circa 1339) was an English chronicler and a Cistercian monk. He likely bore his name from Shepshed in Leicestershire. He was a monk at Croxden Abbey in Staffordshire. He compiled a list of the monks at Croxden and wrote chronicles of English history from 1066 to 1320. The surviving manuscripts of his work are kept in major libraries, including the British Library and Bodleian Library.
