Richard Luis Mercado Corozo, born December 20, 1986 in Esmeraldas, Ecuador, is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a forward for Guayaquil SC. He is 1.96 meters tall. He began his career in 2004 with UT Cotopaxi in Ecuador and has since played for many clubs across South America, including El Nacional (Ecuador), Melgar (Peru), Manta, Deportivo Azogues, Independiente José Terán, Técnico Universitario, Deportivo Quevedo, Mushuc Runa, and Montevideo Wanderers (Uruguay) where he had 37 appearances and 11 goals, plus a loan spell at Olmedo. His later teams include Universitario de Sucre (Bolivia), Atlético Pantoja, Villa Española, LDU Portoviejo, Águila (El Salvador), and Rocha (Uruguay). In 2021 he joined Guayaquil SC. Notable moments include signing with Águila in 2018 but leaving in 2019; in 2020 there was a mistaken report linking him to Sportivo Luqueño in Paraguay, which was not official, and he subsequently joined Rocha before moving to Guayaquil SC.
