Wet Bum is a 2014 Canadian drama film directed by Lindsay MacKay. It tells the story of Sam, a shy teenage girl who struggles to stand up for herself with her swimming teammates and in the nursing home where she works as a cleaner. Julia Sarah Stone plays Sam, with Leah Pinsent as her mother, Jamie Johnston as her brother, and Kenneth Welsh as a nursing home resident. The movie is 98 minutes long and in English. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2014, and won two Vancouver Film Critics Circle awards in 2015 (Best Actress for Stone and Best First Film by a Canadian Director). The film’s visual effects team was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Canadian Screen Awards. In some markets, the film was released as Surfacing.
