Wakefield Eastern Relief Road, also known as A6194 or Neil Fox Way, is a new single-carriageway road opened in 2017 on Wakefield's eastern edge. It runs roughly north–south from the A638 near Heath Common to the A642 at Stanley, just south of M62 junction 30. The road aims to ease congestion in Wakefield and support the City Fields development, which will add about 2,500 homes east of the city. At 7.5 km, it was the first project in the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s 10-year transport plan to boost growth and create jobs, funded by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership Growth Deal of £1 billion from the UK Government’s Local Growth Fund. The road is named Neil Fox Way after rugby player Neil Fox.
