Vancouver FC is a Canadian professional soccer team that plays in the Canadian Premier League (CPL). The club is based in Langley, British Columbia, and hosts home games at Willoughby Stadium near the Langley Events Centre. Known as the Eagles and sometimes called VanFC or VFC, the team was founded on November 2, 2022. It is owned by SixFive Sports and Entertainment, with Rob Friend serving as president. Martin Nash was appointed as head coach.

Expansion and beginnings
In 2021 the CPL awarded an expansion club in Vancouver to SixFive Sports and Entertainment. In 2022 it was announced the team would play in Langley at Willoughby Stadium. The club held its launch on November 2, 2022, naming Afshin Ghotbi as its first head coach. Vancouver FC began league play in 2023.

On the field in 2023
Vancouver FC played its first CPL match on April 15, 2023, losing 1-0 to Pacific FC. The club earned its first league win on matchday two, beating York United 2-1. Their first home match at Willoughby Stadium was a 1-1 draw with Cavalry FC on May 7, 2023, with Shaan Hundal scoring the club’s first home goal. Vancouver finished seventh out of eight teams in 2023 (8 wins, 5 draws, 15 losses) and did not make the playoffs. They also played in the Canadian Championship but were eliminated in the first round by York United.

The 2024 and 2025 seasons
In 2024 Vancouver again exited the Canadian Championship in the first round and finished near the bottom of the CPL standings. On July 23, 2025, head coach Afshin Ghotbi was fired. The team was in last place with 8 points from 15 CPL matches. Under interim coach Martin Nash, the club earned 13 points in the last 13 CPL games, but still finished last. Vancouver FC did reach the Canadian Championship final in 2025, but lost 4–2 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Despite the league finish, the club qualified for the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Off the field
In December 2025, former head coach Afshin Ghotbi filed a civil claim against Vancouver FC’s ownership group, SixFive, over a $500,000 loan. The club says the lawsuit will not affect its operations as the case proceeds.

Crest, colors and stadium
The club’s crest is circular with an eagle forming the letter V. Vancouver FC’s colors are black, grey, and red. Willoughby Stadium has a capacity of about 6,600 seats, with room for expansion, and is part of Langley Events Centre.
