Vorrei che fosse amore
“Vorrei che fosse amore” (I wish it was love) is a pop song by Mina, written by Antonio Amurri and Bruno Canfora. It was recorded on 2 October 1968 and released in October 1968 as a single (B-side: “Caro”). The song served as the final theme for the TV musical Canzonissima and appears on Mina’s Canzonissima '68 album. It reached number 9 on the Italian charts. Cash Box ranked it 77th among Italy’s best-selling singles from July 1968 to July 1969. In 1969 Mina recorded a French version, titled “Si...,” and promoted it in Paris. She also cut an English version, “More Than Strangers,” released as a single and later included on the US album of the same name.
