Rushville, Ohio
Rushville is a small village in Fairfield County, Ohio, United States. It covers about 0.24 square miles of land and had 304 residents at the 2020 census. The village sits on Little Rush Creek, which runs between Rushville and West Rushville.
Rushville is largely part of the Rushville Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was founded in 1808 by Joseph Turner and grew as a stop on Zane's Trace, an old road built in 1797. Before the Civil War, Rushville was a stop on the Underground Railroad, and several fugitive slaves who died seeking freedom in Canada are buried in nearby Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
