Uganda Senior Command and Staff College
Uganda Senior Command and Staff College (USCSC) is a UPDF training facility for senior leaders from the army, the air force, and special forces. It is located in Kimaka, a suburb of Jinja in Uganda, about 82 kilometers east of Kampala, and is next to Jinja Airport.
Founded in 2003 and built by UPDF Engineers, the college began accepting students in 2004 for a one-year Senior Command Course. The program has since trained many of Uganda’s top military leaders, and the college also hosts senior officers from other African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Rwanda. The most popular course is the annual Senior Command Course.
In 2018, the college graduated its first class earning a Master of Arts degree in Defence and Security. Notable leaders associated with USCSC include current commander Major General George Igumba and past commanders Lieutenant General Andrew Gutti, Major General Benon Biraaro, and General Ivan Koreta. The college is not open to the public.
