Rough Aunties

Rough Aunties is a 2008 documentary directed by Kim Longinotto. It follows five women from Operation Bobbi Bear who protect and care for abused, neglected and forgotten children in Durban, South Africa. The film is a UK-South Africa co-production, in English and Zulu, and runs 103 minutes. It premiered at the IDFA festival on 23 November 2008 and won the Grand Jury Prize in the World Cinema - Documentary category at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
