Santai County (Sāntái Xiàn) is in the northeast of Sichuan province, China, and is part of Mianyang city. It covers about 2,660 square kilometers. In 2020, about 956,000 people lived there, giving a population density of around 359 people per square kilometer. The area uses China Standard Time (UTC+8).

As of late 2024 and early 2025, the resident population is about 944,000. The urbanization rate is about 34%, with around 322,000 people living in cities. The registered population is about 1.33 million. Santai County has 31 towns and 2 townships.

Historically, Santai was once known as Tungchwanfu (Tongchuanfu). In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was a major mission center for the Friends' Foreign Mission Association (FFMA). A Quaker hospital, meeting house, boys’ school, and girls’ boarding school were built. Audrey Donnithorne, a British economist and missionary, was born at a Quaker hospital in Santai.
