Behind the Sightings is a 2021 American psychological thriller horror film directed by Tony H. Cadwell. Shot in found footage style, it follows a young married couple, Todd and Jessica Smith from Raleigh, North Carolina, who are making a documentary about the global clown sightings. The film, inspired by the 2016 clown sightings, explores the dark side of clowns. It was produced by Tommy Vlahopoulos and Tom Sulkowski and released by Tommy V Productions.

Originally planned for a theatrical release in October 2017, it was delayed due to disagreements over the final cut. It finally premiered on July 7, 2021, on video-on-demand platforms. Executive producer Tommy Vlahopoulos notes the subject is newsworthy because clowns can be both entertaining and frightening, and the film follows the couple swept up in the phenomenon. In the story, one member of a fictional family is unhappy with some footage; to release the film, that family had to approve it.
