Tulunsky District
Tulunsky District is one of 33 administrative districts in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. It covers 13,561 square kilometers. The administrative center is the town of Tulun, but Tulun is not part of the district; it is a separate entity with the status of a district.
The district was established in 1927. It includes 86 rural localities and has no urban settlements, so all residents live in rural areas. The population was 27,285 in 2010, down from 29,495 in 2002 and 32,657 in 1989.
In municipal terms, the area is Tulunsky Municipal District, with 0 urban settlements and 24 rural settlements. The town of Tulun is separately incorporated as Tulun Urban Okrug. The time zone is UTC+8.
