Komorowo, Ostrów Mazowiecka County
Komorowo is a village in eastern-central Poland. It belongs to the administrative district of Gmina Ostrów Mazowiecka, within Ostrów Mazowiecka County, Masovian Voivodeship. The village has about 2,000 residents and there is a monument to Józef Piłsudski in Komorowo.
Historically, in 1827 Komorowo had 185 people, and by the 1880s it grew to around 385. Before World War II, barracks for the Polish 18th Light Artillery Regiment were located there. After Poland was invaded in 1939, the village was occupied by Germany. From 1941 to 1943, the German authorities ran the Stalag 333 prisoner-of-war camp in the pre-war barracks.
