Moscow, Ohio
Moscow is a tiny village in Clermont County, Ohio, along the Ohio River. It covers about 0.39 square miles (0.37 land and 0.02 water) and sits at about 499 feet in elevation. The population was 155 in 2020. Part of the William H. Zimmer Power Station, a coal-fired plant that was started as a nuclear project but changed during construction, is located within Moscow. The village is near the Ulysses S. Grant Birthplace. Moscow was laid out in 1816, and its name may come from French veterans of Napoleon’s Moscow campaign. The Moscow post office has operated since 1826. On March 2, 2012, a powerful tornado outbreak destroyed much of the town and caused three deaths. The ZIP code is 45153 and the area code is 513.
