Aloe × nobilis

Aloe × nobilis is a commonly grown hybrid aloe in the family Asphodelaceae. It is an artificial hybrid, probably a cross between Aloe mitriformis and Aloe brevifolia, first described in 1812 by Adrian Hardy Haworth. Although both parent species come from South Africa, the hybrid likely arose from cultivated plants in Europe and is not found in the wild in South Africa. It is one of the most widely grown aloes in Europe and has naturalised in parts of Portugal. Synonym: Aloe mitriformis var. spinosior Haw.
