Tracy Weber (singer)
Tracy Weber was an American singer from New York City. She died in 1981 after being shot in an apartment in Harlem, just before her music could be released. Her posthumous hit, "Sure Shot," was written by Nicky Braddy and Richard Bassoff and performed by Weber. The 12-inch disco single was produced by Eric Matthew and Gary Turnier and released in late 1981. "Sure Shot" reached number 3 on the Billboard Disco Top 60 chart in February 1982 and became popular in dance clubs. San Francisco listed it among the top 25 dance club records of 1981–1982, and New York DJ Larry Levan played his own dance remix of the track. In France, Le Figaro called "Sure Shot" a summer dance hit and praised Weber as a charming young woman with a "voice of fire."
