John Patrick Fleming (June 29, 1819 – January 21, 1877) was a businessman and Liberal politician in Ontario. He represented Waterloo South in the Ontario Legislative Assembly from 1875 until his death in 1877. Born in Dunfermline, Scotland, he moved to Upper Canada with his family about 1835. In Galt, he ran several businesses: a grocery started in 1846 with Andrew Elliott, and later a partnership with William Robinson that added a distillery, a soap factory and mills. He also opened a book and stationery shop with Alexander Elmslie. In 1851 he married Mary Moir. Fleming was president of Gore District Fire Insurance, and served as town councillor and reeve of Galt; he was Waterloo County warden in 1869. He died in office after suffering a stroke a few days earlier.
