Anthony Barrett (Canadian football)
Anthony Barrett (born November 9, 1991) is a Canadian former professional football wide receiver and kick returner who played in the Canadian Football League for the Edmonton Eskimos. He also played for the Edmonton Huskies of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).
Raised in Scarborough, Ontario, Barrett attended Eastglen High School and played for Team North in the 2009 Senior Bowl. He then played for the Edmonton Huskies from 2009 to 2013. In his final Huskies season, he had 33 receptions for 536 yards and four touchdowns, plus 136 rushing yards and a rushing TD, and two punt-return touchdowns.
Barrett trained with the Eskimos in 2012 while still with the Huskies and signed with Edmonton on April 11, 2014. He spent most of 2014 on the practice roster but made his CFL debut September 26, 2014 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders after Shamawd Chambers was injured. He appeared in six games that year, mostly on special teams, and played in both the West Semi-Final and West Final, recording a 23-yard kickoff return in the West Final. He started the 2015 season on the practice squad but was moved to the active roster before the opener and played in the first two games of 2015.
