Someren
Someren is a town and municipality in the Netherlands. It is in the province of North Brabant. As of January 2021, about 19,428 people live there. The area covers about 81.5 square kilometers (80.3 km2 land and 1.23 km2 water). The town sits about 26 meters above sea level, near the border with Limburg, just south of Helmond and north of Weert.
The municipality includes four population centers: Someren-Eind, Someren-Heide, Someren, and Lierop.
Someren has its own local dialect called Peellands, an East Brabantian dialect similar to Dutch. In Brabantian, Someren is known as Zummere.
Local government: a municipal council and an acting mayor, Elly Blanksma (CDA).
Notable sights include the windmill Molen Den Evert, a listed monument, and the town’s flag and coat of arms.
