Tormentor (musician)
Tormentor, born July 5, 1972, in Geilo, Norway, is a Norwegian black metal musician best known as a guitarist. He joined Gorgoroth in 1996 with Infernus and helped write and record Destroyer (1998) and Incipit Satan (2000) for Nuclear Blast, also touring Europe and South America. He left the band in 2002 due to disagreements with bassist King ov Hell, but played a one-off show in Bergen in 2003. In 2007 he helped with pre-production for Gorgoroth's next album and officially rejoined in September 2008. Outside Gorgoroth, Tormentor co-founded Orcustus in 2002 with Taipan, Infernus, and Dirge Rep; Orcustus released a debut full-length in 2009 on Southern Lord after early demos and 7" singles. He also contributed to Desekrator's Metal for Demons (1998), has played bass on Gaahlskagg releases, and, with Infernus as Norwegian Evil, covered Von's Satanic Blood on a 2005 tribute double 7".
