Ivesheadiomorphs

Ivesheadiomorphs are fossil structures from the Ediacaran period found in England and Newfoundland. They are taphomorphs, meaning they are largely the preserved remains of other organisms that decayed on the sea floor before being buried by sediment. They resemble or are related to several Ediacaran life forms such as Charnia, Charniodiscus, Bradgatia, Primocyandelabrum and Pectinifrons, rather than representing separate animals themselves. In the past, some fossils were named as Ivesheadia lobata, Blackbrookia oaksi, Shepshedia palmata and Pseudovendia charnwoodensis, but these names are no longer considered valid.
