Suzanne Fei, born Suzanne Dunlap, is an American bioinformatics analyst who has led the Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Core at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland since 2017. She was born in California and raised in Janesville, California, and Coquille, Oregon. Adopted at birth through LDS Family Services, she later reunited with her birth mother, Brooke Hemming, who is a Senior Physical Scientist with the EPA. Fei earned degrees in computer science and biochemistry from Oregon State University and a PhD in biomedical informatics from OHSU; her dissertation is “Integrating Genetics and Proteomics to Study Alcohol-drinking Behavior.” She is the Core Director for the Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Core at the Oregon National Primate Research Center at OHSU. Fei is married to software engineer Yiyang Fei, and they have a daughter and a son. An advocate for LGBTQ Mormons, she has served on the steering committee for Mormons Building Bridges and the ally committee for Affirmation: LGBT Mormons, Families & Friends. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lives in Oregon. Fei contributed as a Data Coordinator to the 2017 Cancer Cell paper “Integrated Genomic Characterization of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma” (Raphael et al.), which has been cited many times (217 Google Scholar citations).
