Tomaru (Tōmaru) is a Japanese breed of long-crowing chicken. Its crow can last about 25 seconds. It is one of four Japanese long-crowing breeds, along with Koeyoshi, Kurokashiwa, and Tōtenkō. The breed is believed to have come from China during the Tang dynasty; the 唐 character in its name refers to that era. In 1939, it was registered as a Japanese natural monument in Niigata Prefecture.

Tomaru chickens are black all over with a greenish shine. They have a broad, compact body with a full breast. The tail is held low, not very long. Sickle feathers can be long, but the breed is not usually considered long-tailed. Their feet and shanks are dark slate-gray. They have a single comb, and the face and ears are red (in hens the face can be entirely black). Weights are about 3.3 kg for males and 2.1 kg for females.

Conservation status: not at risk in 2007, but the 2022 status is unknown.
