Night Market Hero (雞排英雄) is a 2011 Taiwanese film directed by Yeh Tien-lun in his feature debut. The story follows A-hua, the manager of the 888 Night Market, who helps vendors solve disputes and protect their livelihoods.

One night, a female reporter named Lin Yi-nan collides with Hsiao-chi near the market and meets A-hua, which softens Lin Yi-nan’s loneliness and leads to a growing connection with A-hua. After a series of troubles at work and in her personal life, Lin Yi-nan ends up doing community service at the night market, where she finds friendship and support among the vendors.

When a construction company buys the land and threatens to close the market, aided by bribed lawmakers and gangsters, A-hua leads the vendors in protests and works with the media to tell their stories. In the end, the night market is saved.

The film is known for its use of Taiwanese Hokkien and has been compared to Cinema Paradiso and the works of François Truffaut. It won Best Film at the Guam International Film Festival in 2011 and helped Taiwanese cinema reach mainland China after a 2010 trade agreement. The movie stars Lan Cheng-lung, Ko Chia-yen, and Chu Ke-liang, runs 124 minutes, and grossed about NT$140 million in Taiwan in 2011.
